The Beginning: 1981

West Houston Church of Christ started in 1981. A group of Christians met together for the first time in the fall of 1981 and agreed there was a need for a church in this part of Harris County.

1982

West Houston Church of Christ met for the first time as a body on January 9, 1982 at Bear Creek Elementary School.

1991

Our first property was at West Road and Highway 6 and served the community for many years.

A New Chapter in Our Story: 2005

In June of 2005, we moved to our current location. Our new building was funded by generous pledges made by our members during our Building Up, Reaching Out Campaign.· As of March 29, 2009, we are thrilled to say we are debt free!

Our Ministers

Kurt Picker was the first preaching minister of the congregation (1982-2000), followed by Tim Spivey (2001-2002). Matt Soper began his service as our Senior Minister on August 10, 2003.
