Welcome to a friendly, laid back environment
Don't worry, you won't be asked to raise your hand or share your life story just because you're a visitor. Participate as much or as little as you want to. Just grab a coffee, meet some people, and enjoy the service.
Our main goal is to please, encounter, and be changed by God in every service. Our ultimate desire is that God is worshipped and He gets most of the attention. We hope West Houston can be a catalyst to guide you to experience the joy of meeting and getting to know your Creator more intimately.
We strive to create an environment for worship where people are encouraged to experience the presence of God. Dr. Matt Soper, our Senior Minister, brings us a relevant message and our worship includes prayer and congregational singing. Our messages are Bible based and offer practical insights to relevant issues that concern people in every walk of life. We want your worship experience at West Houston to be one of the best hours of your week!
Bible Classes are a great time to dig into the bible and meet new friends. Bible classes are key to getting connected. They provide community, intimacy, and opportunities to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ.
A nursery for infants through three year olders is available during the 8:15 am and10:45 am Sunday morning service. The Nursery is located in the hallway by the main stairs across from the worship center.
There is a place for older kids too! SCUBA Kids is just for kids 3-5 years old. These are alternative worships that are just on their level. This is exciting time for them to experience God with relevant and practical life lessons from God's word. There is an announcement during the service dismissing kids for SCUBA Kids.
One of our main goals for every Sunday service is that people will be able to connect with God and with each other. We invite you to fill out the visitor's ca
rd and turn it in during worship or at the Welcome Center. This is our way of knowing who you are, what kind of needs you might have, and how we can serve you better.
Dress comfortable and be yourself. We're more concerned about what happens inside of people than their external appearance.
