Community—it is at the center of Christianity. We were not meant to experience our joys and struggles alone; rather, we were created by God to live in community with others. If God is my Father and God is your Father, then we are family. The challenge is to let Jesus guide us into living as His family.
West Houston Church of Christ is a large church with over 1000 members. How do you find meaningful relationships in such a large group? Small Groups are a way to connect with a small group of people following Jesus. They typically discuss that Sunday's Bible passages and message and emphasize personal application in an atmosphere of fellowship, encouragement and accountability. Many groups have a simple meal together. Often groups look for a way to serve others together. These groups meet on different nights in locations all around the west side of Houston. Small Groups are a vital means of spiritual growth and provide a great way to connect and belong at West Houston.

Please feel free to email these lifegroup leaders with any questions you may have about their group. They will be happy to answer them. You can try out a group for a few weeks. "What are people SAYING?"
God has blessed me through the life group journey by teaching me that the other members are family. He has shown me that I can be vulnerable in their presence and share things my flesh would prefer to keep hidden. The blessing of vulnerability has resulted in freedom from the load of shame the enemy was able to effectively use to shackle me. When we invite the Spirit into our meetings, His presence provides all of us with the confidence to share these kinds of things because we are sharing them with members of our family.

God has blessed me immensely with this Life Group. This group has become "family" for each other through the sharing of meals, visiting and caring for each other when ill. Our group meetings provide a safe and trusting place to discuss whatever is on our hearts. They encourage me, are supportive, and keep me focused.
