Volunteer Opportunities
9/25 Bridge City ISD:
They are short for about 918 students. What they would like is to organize all
of the supplies into a backpack so they can just hand it to each student. So for
each student we need:
-
1 backpack
-
1 (12) pack of Crayons
-
1 pack of #2 Pencils
-
1 Glue
-
1 Rulers
-
1 pack Notebook paper
- Highlighters 3rd grade 208 students
- Computer printer paper 190 students
Whatever you can provide, will be greatly appreciated. We
are sending this to some other churches but what every we can help with. Gather
them at the church office and we will get them over here as soon as possible.
9/25 Immediate needs for Bridge City:
- Bleach, many truck loads
- Cleaning supplies, everything
- Work Gloves
- Face Mask, Basic
- Mosquito repellant, very strong
- Safety Glasses
- Air Mattresses
- Tents
- Heavy duty hand cleaner
- Clothes
- New underwear for men and women, all sizes.
- New tee shirts, all sizes
- New shoes, all sizes
- New shorts, all sizes
- New socks, all sizes
- Any Baby Supplies and foods
- Depends (adult underwear protection) for nursing home people
- Gatorade, small bottle

9/25 OCTOBER 3RD TRIP: Charles Bellomy is coordinating a trip to the Beaumont/Orange/Bridge
City area to assist The Churches of Christ Disaster Response Team. The
plan is to leave at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3rd and
to return by noon on Sunday, October 5th. If you are interested in
going on this trip please contact Charles at

you cannot stay the entire weekend you are still welcome to join the
trip.
If you cannot join the trip on October 3rd, but would be
interested in coordinating another trip, you may want to visit the

The
Disaster Response Team is also in need of donations of supplies and
cash. We will have a box in the foyer where you can place your
donation of supplies. If you would like to make a cash donation you
can write a check to WHCC with a notation of "disaster relief." These
funds will be given to the Churches of Christ Disaster Response Team.
You can make donations directly to the Disaster Response Team via the
website.

9/19 HELP NEEDED: Bear Creek United Methodist Church
is housing 100 evacuees. They are still without power. Keep them in
your prayers. Right now they can use $25

9/18 NEEDS: Laura Brandt is working one of the relief sites in downtown Houston. Laura is willing to get the goods down to the people. Laura’s number is 832-334-3250.
The following is a list of needs for people in the area:
- Sheets
- Household cleaning products
- Blankets
- Candles
- Can goods
- Bottled water
- Plastic ware, paper goods, etc.
- Towels of all kinds
9/17 STORM UPDATE: West Houston's building NOW HAS ELECTRICTY. Please check back periodically to see when church activities will resume at the building.
9/17 IMMEDIATE NEEDS: Complete Jody Ledbetter has a tree she needs help with...chain saw required. Phone 281-550-1568 and 832 273-6733. Address 15303 Sterling Lake Drive Houston (behind old church)
Complete Maudelle Stephens has a tree on her garage. We need a crew with chain saws to help her out. Her land-line number is 281-373-5578...cell 281-414-7131.
She has no power at her house and will not get power restored until
this tree is removed. She is one our widows...please, let's get a
response team to her. Her address is 14031 Jarvis Rd. Cypress.
